Ralph McDaniels is a legendary Hip Hop media pioneer, entrepreneur, author, speaker, and community leader who is credited with creating what many people consider to be one of the earliest Hip Hop music shows, "Video Music Box."
Before the emergence of MTV, VH1, and BET, "Video Music Box" provided an outlet for underground rappers to showcase their music videos. It also offered an unprecedented glimpse into Hip Hop culture through its coverage of events, concerts, and fashion related to the genre.

Recently, Ralph McDaniels became the focal point of a highly popular Showtime documentary produced by the legendary rapper and entrepreneur Nas.
